I know 5 weeks is such a minuscule amount of time compared to the time that some people have to be away from family and friends, but nothing makes you feel more loved than when people take the time to see you off. I had an amazing past week with my family, and friends who rearranged schedules so that we could spend time together. One of my favorite quotes from a friend over beers on the beach went something like: "May Carly make lots of great new friends- but none as great as present company".
It was definitely hard to say goodbye to Moxie... She was giving my suitcase the evil eye during my final preparations...
